Welcome to the behind-the-scenes look at our collaboration with the esteemed FSU Alumni Association's VIRES Magazine—a testament to the fusion of artistic vision and editorial excellence. As the art director and designer at Pen and Tool, I have had the privilege of working hand-in-hand with the talented editorial team to bring this publication to life over the past several issues.
The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport needed a creative solution to provide updates on construction and airport developments. As a client of The Moore Agency, I was hired to develop a mascot character with two personas: the pelican as a construction worker and as a pilot with various poses to apply to print assets, signage, web and social graphics.
Through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Asphalt Art Initiative, the City of Tallahassee, the Council on Culture & Arts and the Greater Bond Neighborhood Association partnered to facilitate the creative painting of nine crosswalks and three intersections on Saxon Street. I was chosen as the muralist for the Saxon and Linear intersection.
I had the honor of meeting the rockstar chef, Leon Brunson, over a year ago to begin working on his restaurant and catering cottage branding. It’s always exciting to work with other creatives who have a clear vision. We continue to work together as he expands his delicious enterprise.
Working hand-in-hand with the Moore Agency was a collaborative journey marked by shared enthusiasm for the project's significance. Together, we meticulously refined the details, ensuring that the re-imagined seal captured the essence of Salem College and University's identity. Regular feedback sessions and a shared commitment to excellence fueled the creative process, resulting in a revitalized emblem that pays homage to the institution's legacy.
In collaboration with Tallahassee downtown, I've played a pivotal role in the evolution of brand identity. Nurturing the essence of the community, we've updated and refined the visual language that defines downtown Tallahassee. The brand identity now stands as a dynamic representation of the area's growth, embodying its past, present, and future. As part of my contract, we’ve created event branding and graphics, marketing materials, murals and more.
